WCCS Students Honored at Academic Awards Ceremony
Wallace Community College Selma held its annual Honors Ceremony on Thursday, March 13, 2007 at 7:00 pm in the Earl Goodwin Theatre. This ceremony recognizes the academic achievements of students in a number of organizations. The following awards were presented: Academic Achievement, Academic Excellence, All-Alabama Academic Team Members, Most Outstanding Academic Athletes, Phi Theta Kappa; Alpha Eta Tau Chapter, and Who’s Who Among Students in American Junior Colleges.

Dr. Cornel West speaks at Wallace Community College Selma
On Friday, March 7 at 7 p.m., Dr. Cornel West, one of the nation’s most provocative public intellectuals, lectured before a crowd of over 800. The event was free and open to the public.

WCCS Holds PTK Induction Ceremony
Wallace Community College Selma held its Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society Induction Ceremony for its Alpha Eta Tau Chapter on Thursday, Feb. 12, at 6:30 p.m. in the Library Reading Room on the WCCS campus. Mrs. Becky Davis and Mrs. Kerry Henderson, both Business Education Instructors coordinated the event and are the advisors for Alpha Eta Tau.

Dr. Cornel West to deliver Lecture at Wallace Community College Selma
Dr. Cornel West, one of the nation’s most provocative public intellectuals, will lecture at Wallace Community College Selma at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 7, 2008. West, a theologian, author, activist and professor of religion at Princeton University, will share his perspective on the subject, "From Selma to Jena and Beyond." The lecture is free and open to the public.
