Selma, Ala. - Ten Wallace Community College Selma students recently visited the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) for a transfer tour, exploring academic opportunities, and getting a firsthand look at university life.
During the visit, students learned about academic programs, financial aid, student life, and campus involvement. The tour gave them an opportunity to ask questions and consider what their next steps after Wallace could look like.
The group visited the Hill Student Center, Heritage Hall academic building and the UAB University Recreation Center, gaining a closer look at the places where students learn, connect and stay active.

Michelle Pinkard, a Wallace student pursuing an Associate in Science degree, said the visit helped her explore campus life, housing costs for transfer students, and her interest in pre-med studies.
"Today at the tour of UAB I was able to get my questions about campus life, cost of housing as a transfer student, and more information in pre med," Pinkard said.

The group concluded the day with a meal at Commons on the Green, UAB's campus dining hall. Tyler Mitchell organized the trip, and Rachel Gordon and Shelia Jefferson served as chaperones.
