Policy/Purpose:
It is the policy of Wallace Community College – Selma (WCCS) to establish its Mission, Vision, Values, and Strategic Directions that support the overall mission of the Alabama Community College System (ACCS).
WCCS is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award the Associate degree. WCCS also may offer credentials such as certificates and diplomas at approved degree levels. Questions about the accreditation of WCCW may be directed in writing to the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges at 1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, Georgia 30033-4097, by calling (404) 679-4500, or by using information available on SACSCOC’s website (www.sacscoc.org).
Scope:
This policy applies to all WCCS students and employees during any activity involving the College, including the workday. In addition, visitors, vendors, contractors, and all other non-employees are expected to recognize and comply with College policies.

- Mission: The mission of Wallace Community College Selma is to provide high-quality learning-centered educational opportunities and services, through diverse instructional delivery modes, that are responsive to individual community, state, and global needs.
- Accreditation: WCCS is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACSCOC) to award Associate in Arts, Associate in Science, and Associate in Applied Science Degrees. Contact the Commission on Colleges at 1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, Georgia 30033-4097 or call (404) 679.4501 for questions about the accreditation of WCCS. Initial accreditation was granted in December 1974, and accreditation was reaffirmed in December 1980, 1990, 2000, and 2010. The most recent institutional Self-Study report is available for review in the College Library and the Office of Institutional Effectiveness.

Strategic Planning Cycle Procedures
- The Office of Institutional Effectiveness is responsible for leading the planning cycle. WCCS identifies major steps for institutional effectiveness planning.
- Strategic Planning Review of Mission and Goals.
- Formulation of Unit Plans.
- Complete Budget Processes.
- Implementation of Unit Plans.
- Data Collection and Assessment.
- Use of Data and Evaluation Results for Improvement.
Accreditation Inquiries Procedures
1. Inquiries: Normal inquiries about WCCS, such as admission requirements, financial aid, educational programs, etc., should be addressed directly to WCCS and not the Commission’s office.
